Following completion of detailed planning, we know that demand for healthcare will grow significantly over the next 10-15 years.

We need to significantly increase the capacity of our health system.

To meet this surge in demand, the ACT Government is committed to creating a health system that is ready for the future and has allocated $600 million as the first stage of a $1 billion upgrade in health infrastructure.

It is also widely recognised that Public Hospitals around the nation need to target their financial resources to areas of highest demand.  The cost of providing a world class health system with state of the art equipment has gone well beyond tax payers dollars.  This is why the Health Directorate now needs to increase its fundraising efforts to the same level as other hospitals and health services around the country.
