Give back to your community this Christmas!
Have a positive impact on patients, families and healthcare teams...
Thank you for your amazing support for our Christmas Appeal!
Support your community...
In 2022, we were delighted to fund many significant projects. Each project will improve patients' health outcomes across Canberra Health Services.
The projects you have helped us deliver are as diverse as the hospital itself.
This diversity mirrors that of the Canberra community, which includes the surrounding region.
What unites all the projects is their purpose to positively impact people's experience as they face some of the most difficult life challenges.
You can be a part of this generous community, and make a difference with your end of year giving. Please donate to our Christmas Appeal.
Funds raised go to support
- clinical trials and medical research in Canberra
- therapeutic and supportive programs
- transformations of away-from-bed areas, and
- the purchase of speciality medical equipment
...which enhances the patient experience throughout the year.
Share the joy!
Together we are making a difference...

Installation of Paediatric Wall Art
Trying to keep a young child calm while they go through medical tests can be challenging; it is a challenge even when they're not in a hospital! We know, however, that distraction is a powerful technique in helping children cope.
So, when the healthcare team reached out to us to fund some fun items to keep children calm during testing and treatments, we said a big yes. Now the walls are decorated with fascinating wall art that the children can explore and focus on during their visits.
In fact, a parent recently told us how her 18-year-old son still remembers little stickers he concentrated on during treatments at age 5! It makes us so happy to hear the difference it's already making to both children and parents, and it's thanks to you we were able to make it happen. Small things – huge positive impact!

Translation of Emergency Department Brochures
A visit to the emergency department (ED) can be a stressful experience for anyone. This stress is further exacerbated when the communication isn't in your first language.
Thanks to our generous donors' support, we could translate ED brochures into various languages.
The finished products are now available in the emergency department so everyone can access the information they need when they need it.
This is another example of a project with ongoing positive impact.

Expansion of the Adolescent Mental Health Day Service
One of our mental health services goals is to keep adolescents aged 12 to 18 years experiencing significant mental health issues out of hospital.
Depression, anxiety and behavioural disorders are the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents.
Adolescents with mental health conditions are particularly vulnerable to social exclusion, educational difficulties and risk-taking behaviours.
Thanks to your support, we've been able to fund an expansion of the Adolescent Mental Health Day Service.
This means the team can extend its critical service, which supports young people in our community with mental health vulnerability and offers them professional team care in a supportive environment without a hospital stay.
