Dress-Up Day

Coordinate a themed dress-up day where participants donate to dress according to the theme. CAN GIVE DAY falls on Friday 13 October, why not a spooky dress up?

Trivia Night

Host a trivia session where participants can form teams and answer questions on various topics. Charge an entry fee, and the winning team gets a prize.

Bake Sale

Encourage your team or CHS networks to bake and donate goods for a bake sale on CAN GIVE DAY.

Book Swap

Set up a book swap event where participants bring books they no longer need and exchange them for a donation.

Cultural Lunch

Celebrate our diverse cultures by hosting a cultural day for lunch. Encourage team members from different backgrounds to showcase their culinary talents.

What is CAN GIVE DAY?

CAN GIVE DAY is one big day to change lives on Friday, 13 October 2023!

CAN GIVE DAY is a chance for Canberra Health Services teams to come together and enjoy some quality time celebrating with each other. Meanwhile, the Canberra community comes together to support healthcare services in a way that makes such a huge difference to our patients.

It's a 24-hour fundraising sprint to support your work and the exceptional patient care you provide to people in our community.

Funds raised go to support research, therapeutic programs, transformations of away-from-bed areas, and the purchase of specialty medical equipment, which enhances the patient experience throughout the year.

"Nursing staff were supportive of my child having blood taken. Our nurse was gentle and assisted with removing his Elma dressing. We were able to use the Smiley Scope during his venepuncture, which significantly improved how he coped. Normally, blood tests are very distressing to him. The smiley scope VR set allowed him to be distracted and not see the needle. He was calm throughout. The nurses were gentle and quick and praised him for how he went. This experience has significantly reduced his anxiety around tests and the hospital. Thank you for being so caring."
