Celebrating CAN GIVE DAY
What a day!
CAN GIVE DAY 2025 was pure joy from start to finish. A time for healthcare teams to come together, dream up creative ways to raise funds and invite the whole Canberra community to join the fun.
Whether donations arrived online, through a handful of coins tossed into a tin, or a perfectly timed snag from the famous Canberra Hospitals Foundation BBQ, every single dollar was doubled thanks to the incredible generosity of our matching partners GIO Insurance, Workday, Icon Water, Tall Foundation and Capital Chemist. Together, we raised over $182,000 in ONE DAY.
But CAN GIVE DAY is not just about matched giving. It is about YOU. The amazing people who make up our healthcare teams turned an ordinary Thursday into a festival of gratitude and care. Your enthusiasm, baking skills and big-hearted humour reminded everyone why our hospitals and health services are so special. You don’t just do a job; it is a duty of care to the collective, and our community sees and celebrates that.
On CAN GIVE DAY, we all felt it. Canberra came together to cheer you on and your energy lit up every corridor and courtyard. Thank you for making the day so colourful, so generous, and so memorable.

A first for CHF: A CAN GIVE DAY call centre!
Like a scene straight out of Wolf of Wall Street, the Lennock Volkswagen and Workday teams hit the phones from 9am - a first for Canberra Hospitals Foundation.
Since CAN GIVE DAY, our pop-up call centre has received glowing feedback from donors and community members. Everyone loved the friendly reminder that their gift would go twice as far on the day.
We can’t thank these sponsors and community partners enough, their positive energy rang out loud and clear, from each phone call right through to the tally room!
Veterans Motorcycle Club collaborate with the BBQ Crew
This wonderful group of ex-Australian Defence Force members joined our BBQ Crew as extra helping hands, honouring a mate who was recently cared for by our healthcare teams. It’s heart-warming to see the many ways our community gives back—and we always welcome more hands on the BBQ!
CHS Team activities across all three campuses – bringing the fun to fundraising
Teams at North Canberra Hospital brewed up some irresistible fundraising fun—think custom matcha and iced Vietnamese coffees crafted by the talented NCH Pharmacy crew, and an ICU-led Big Banana Bake-Off, where a donation was the golden ticket to enter.
Thank you for your clever ideas, bright smiles, and boundless enthusiasm for CAN GIVE DAY. We can’t wait to see what you dream up next year!
The University of Canberra Hospital crew turned fundraising into a full-day celebration. They hosted a lively Rehathlon wheelchair race, kept everyone fuelled with a sizzling sausage sizzle, and lit up the wards Bright Shirt Day style.
Their incredible effort raised $2,412 for CAN GIVE DAY – and we are so grateful for the rolling, sizzling and styling support!
Canberra Hospital was a hive of activity! From a mega bake sale at the Canberra Region Cancer Centre and Women, Youth and Children, to the mouth-watering aromas of freshly baked treats and the sizzling CHF BBQ in the Welcome Hall, the atmosphere was electric.
Mix 106.3 kept the excitement buzzing, broadcasting live all day and chatting with healthcare teams and CHF supporters who went the extra mile to make a difference.
A huge thank-you to everyone who baked, bought, flipped, donated and cheered us on—we couldn’t have done it without you. We’re already excited to see you again at CAN GIVE DAY 2026!
