We want you... we want you... we want you for the Bar-B-Crew!

The Canberra Hospital Foundation Charity BBQ runs every Thursday, and we are looking for volunteers to join our Bar-B-Crew. Are you up for support that sizzles?

Join us every Thursday from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM (weather permitting) at our BBQ that serves both breakfast and lunch for healthcare workers, patients, and visiting families at Canberra Hospital.

Located adjacent to the multi-storey car park, outside Building 15 on Hospital Road, our BBQ has become an institution within the Canberra Hospital community.

Under the guidance of our BBQ Manager and a team of enthusiastic volunteers, we take pride in offering simple yet high-quality food options.

"To be able to come out and surround myself with enthusiastic and loving people, it's a pleasure helping out the community in a way that I'm proud of."

Embrace the Opportunity to Volunteer

Are you an individual, a part of a community group, or a team of colleagues looking to make a positive impact? We invite you to join our volunteer team, contributing your time and effort to a meaningful cause.

Our volunteer shifts are from 7 AM to 2:30 PM, with responsibilities that include cooking, serving, and handling cashier duties, and helping with set up and pack down. 3 different shifts are offered to all volunteers from 7 AM to 9 AM, 9 AM to 1 PM and 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

We are currently in search of volunteers who can assist with the crucial aspects of set-up and pack-down:

  1. Set Up: Begin your day with us by helping with the morning preparations and assisting early customers. This shift goes from 7 AM to 9 AM and includes tasks such as putting up tents, arranging equipment, and lifting boxes of beverages.

  2. Pack Down: Contribute to the bustling lunchtime rush and then assist in the organised winding down of the BBQ. This shift goes from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM and calls for volunteers who are physically capable of managing tents and other equipment during the pack-up process.

Your dedication as a volunteer supports our event and allows you to help create a beneficial effect on the Canberra community. Contact us today to explore how you can join our team of like-minded volunteers.
