Line up for the CHF Charity BBQ

Support that sizzles!

The Canberra Hospital Foundation Charity BBQ will be back again soon - thank you for your understanding during the COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions. In the meantime, we are looking for special volunteers. Could it be you?

Outside of COVID restrictions, the BBQ runs every Thursday, serving breakfast and lunch to healthcare workers, patients, and visiting families at the main entrance of Canberra Hospital.

The BBQ has become quite the institution at Canberra Hospital, and COVID-permitting, it runs rain, hail, or shine.

Staffed by the BBQ Manager and a team of wonderful volunteers, the BBQ sells simple, quality foods, sourced through local Canberra businesses.

Please note, the menu is currently being updated.

  • Sausage Sandwich
  • Sausage & Egg Sandwich
  • Bacon & Egg Sandwich
  • Steak Sandwich
  • Fruit Salad
  • Soft Drinks
  • Water

All hot food gluten free. Wholemeal, multigrain and gluten free bread available on request.

Join the Bar-B-Crew

The BBQ couldn’t run without the help of our amazing volunteers who make up our Bar-B-Crew. We are always searching for new volunteer recruits to join the team!

Besides greeting customers with a smile, duties include
  • setting up
  • cooking
  • serving

Whether you’re an individual, community group or team of workmates, we’d love to hear from you if you’d like to make a positive difference and volunteer at the BBQ! There are opportunities to volunteer on a continuous basis, casually or on a one-off occasion.

Please register your interest to volunteer at the BBQ in readiness for when the BBQ can take place again.
