Therapeutic Harp Program
When you participate in Dry July, you help Canberra Hospital Foundation in continuing to deliver the Therapeutic Harp Program. This is a professional bedside service offering harp music at Canberra Hospital's Canberra Region Cancer Centre (CRCC).
This unique service is available to all patients, provided by Alison Ware, Creative Arts Therapist and Certified Clinical Musician. There are many heartwarming benefits to patients, their loved ones and families, plus those who hear the soothing music drifting down the corridor.
"The most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard, listening to it in the centre, reverberate off the glass just makes the whole centre feel like a happier place. The harp really gladdens the heart." said a grateful patient. |

"I’ve just been waiting for your trolley to come along, I listen out to it every time!" a patient told a healthcare team member as they approached with a trolley. |

Flower Display
Over the years, the flowers have created a more relaxed and warm atmosphere in spaces that are traditionally more clinical. These touches not only help enhance the patient experience, but they also brighten up spaces for healthcare teams while they deliver exceptional care.
"The flowers really brighten up the centre and make it a bit more joyful." said a patient walking through the foyer. |
