The Canberra Hospital Foundation (CHF) is proud to announce the return of its flagship fundraising event, CAN GIVE DAY, set to take place on Thursday, 26 September 2024. Now in its fifth year, this highly anticipated event has raised over $1.2 million since its inception in 2020, making a significant impact on the lives of patients, their families and healthcare teams across Canberra and the surrounding regions. This year CHF is aiming to raise $350,000! 

CAN GIVE DAY is more than just a fundraising event; it's a day dedicated to supporting people and families in our community who are experiencing some of the most challenging times in their lives. It's also a chance to celebrate the tireless efforts of our healthcare workers who provide care when it's needed the most. None of us know when our lives may change in just a split second, CAN GIVE DAY offers the unique opportunity to healp transform lives and bring life-changing opportunities to those in need. 

How CAN GIVE DAY Makes a Difference

Last year's CAN GIVE DAY was a resounding success, funding a range of important projects that have enhanced patient care comfort throughout Canberra's public health facilities. These projects included: 

• Therapeutic Programs for Children: Funding for programs and items that help reduce stress from young patients, making hospital experiences less daunting for children and their families. 
• Support for Adolescent Mental Health: Contributions supported therapeutic programs aimed at helping young people navigate mental health challenges, providing them with the tools they need for a brighter future. 
• Dementia Care Enhancements: Significant strides were make in supporting dementia patients and their caregivers through innovative programs and state-of-the-art equipment. 
• Robotics Rehabillitation Program: The purchase of cutting-edge equipment for the Robtoics Rehabilitation Program, transforming the recovery process for patients with neurological and physical impairments. 
• Refurbuishment of Patient Spaces: Refurbishments of away-from-bed spaces, creating welcoming environments that provide much-needed respite for patients and their families.

This year we're asking everyone to come together once again to make CAN GIVE DAY 2024 our most impactful event yet. Here's how you can get involved: 

• Donate: Thanks to our generous matched donors, your donations on CAN GIVE DAY, 26 September 2024, will be doubled by our matching fund - until these funds are fully exhausted. This means your $1 becomes $2, every $25 becomes $50 and everyt $50 becomes $100!

• Buy a ticket to see the Master Cook Challenge on 16 October
