Bangladesh Community Joins Can Give campaign to appreciate Healthcare Heroes in Canberra

2021 is a historic year for Bangladesh as it celebrates the fifty years of independence and the birth centenary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Australia was the first among the developed nations to recognise Bangladesh and has been a strong partner in Bangladesh’s developmental journey. While economic and sectoral engagements are growing remarkably between Bangladesh and Australia, Bangladesh diaspora, with their hard work and dedication, is making proud contribution to an inclusive Australia.

At present, both Australia and Bangladesh are manifesting remarkable resilience to health and economic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our health sector personnel are proving as real heroes in this challenging time. Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra, in association with Bangladesh Australia Association Canberra Inc. (BAAC) and Bangladesh Seniors Club, Canberra has decided to honour healthcare heroes by joining the community campaign organised by the Canberra Hospital Foundation. This humble initiative and modest funds raised will be a token of gratitude from the Bangladesh community in Canberra to the friendly people of Australia at a time when Bangladesh celebrates two important milestones.

The campaign will commence from 22 October 2021. While members of the Bangladesh community are requested to donate online using the link, Bangladesh High Commissioner in presence of representatives of BAAC and Bangladesh Seniors Club will formally hand over donated funds to the representative of the Canberra Hospital Foundation on 28 October 2021.

Please join Bangladesh High Commission on this noble cause.
