WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
The Big Wig Challenge will see a select group of community leaders abseil down a building at Canberra Hospital on Friday 21st October. But first they must raise a $10,000 Entry Fee. It's all for a great cause!
You can make sure your boss has to leap from the tallest building... sign up to fundraise as part of a Big Wig team and get them to $10,000!
The Big Wig Challenge supports CAN GIVE DAY, a day to give back to our community! CAN GIVE DAY contributes to our healthcare services in a way that makes such a huge difference to our patients. It's a 24-hour fundraising sprint to support exceptional patient care for people in our community and the surrounding region.
Please help us share the message!
Funds raised go to support research, therapeutic programs, transformations of away-from-bed areas, and the purchase of speciality medical equipment, which enhances the patient experience throughout the year.

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISERS
We need you! You can sign up for an Account and create a Fundraising Page. If you would like to join or create a Team, or host an event or activity to fundraise, you can sign up to do that too.
CHS STAFF FUNDRAISERS
We have a special sign up area for staff of Canberra Health Services. Create an account (or sign into your Account from last year) and create a Fundraising Page. You will require the access code.

Keep it simple or make it as fun as you like. You will receive a confirmation email once you are done.
JOIN A BIG WIG'S TEAM
You must join an existing team to fundraise on behalf of a Big Wig, and help them reach their $10,000 Entry Fee!

Now the fun-draising begins! Share your profile, or your teams profile, to your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours. Here are three ways you can do it...
Social Media
Look for the social sharing buttons on your Fundraising Page (or copy and paste the link). Don't forget to ask others to share on their socials too!
Feel free to email your Fundraising Page link to your friends and family. Or perhaps you have a workplace email signature where you can add the link?
Newsletter
Are you part of a sporting club, community group or perhaps your workplace has a newsletter that could add your Fundraising Page link to their next edition?

You've got questions, we've got answers...
Can I use my Account from last year?
Yes, if you created an Account for a previous event with us, you can use the same login details.
When you go to the Sign Up page, look for the tab 'Already have an Account with us?' and use your email address and password that you used to create the Account.
What if I can't remember my password from last year?
You can reset your password. When you go to the Sign Up page and click on the tab 'Already have an Account with us?' you will see a link for 'Forgotten your password?' (it's under the Login button).
Follow the prompts to reset your password.
I'm having trouble signing up for an Account or creating a Fundraising Page, how can I get help?

Thank you for sticking with it! We will get you the help you need to sign up for an Account, and create a Fundraising Page.
I need to change or update my Account and Fundraising Page/ Team Fundraising Page, where can I do that?
After you have created an Account, or have returned to your Account and signed in, you will see three options:
My Page
- You can Upload a Profile Image, Add a Blog Post or Sponsor Yourself, and check on your progress
- You can Get Support for your fundraising, by sharing to social media, getting the link to share, or via email from here
- You can check on Donations made to your Fundraising page
- Look for Edit My Page to edit your Fundraising page link, fundraising target and Update Your Blog or Gallery
- Be sure to click Save Changes at the bottom
My Team
- You can Invite others to join your Team using a link, via social media or email
- You can Get Support for your Team fundraising, by sharing to social media, getting the link to share, or via email from here
- You can check your Team Donations
- You can Edit Team Page, including the Fundraising target, Team Name, change settings and passcode, update your Team Blog or Team Gallery
- You can manage your Team Members and invite others to join
- Be sure to click Save Changes at the bottom
My Account
- You can Update Account including your Personal Details, reset Password and check Your History
- Be sure to click Save Changes

Can I host an event or activity as part of my CAN GIVE DAY fundraising?
Yes, you can. We have some fundraising guidelines and expectations to ensure everyone benefits from your wonderful offer.
When you sign up and create an Account, there are Terms and Conditions you must agree to in order to proceed. These T&C's outline the Fundraising guidelines and expectations.Â
You can amend or update your Fundraising Page or Team Fundraising Page to include details of your event or activity.Â
Who is a Big Wig? Can I be a Big Wig? Can I nominate someone to be a Big Wig?
Thank you for your interest. The Big Wigs have already been selected for this year. They are leaders in our community and in their organisations/ businesses/ departments.Â
You can get behind one of our Big Wigs by donating to them or joining their Fundraising Team, and helping to fundriase on their behalf.
It seems I have to join a Team in the Big Wig sign up process?
As the Big Wigs are already selected, there is only the option to join a Big Wig Fundraising Team to support their fundraising. When signing up for your Account, in the team tab, select a Big Wig team to join.
How can I support the Big Wigs?

- You can find a Big Wig on our website and make a donation to their Team
- You can sign up for Account and join a Big Wig Fundraising Team to fundraise for them
- You can share the details about CAN GIVE DAY on your social media pages
- You can share the details to your local club, group, neighbours, family and friends
When will the Big Wig Challenge be on? Can we come and watch the Big Wig Challenge?
The Big Wig Challenge is on Friday 21st October 2022.
Each Big Wig can bring 2 people to watch. Passerby's on Hospital Road pedestrian area can watch the abseiling. But we aren't encouraging an audience, due to safety and visitation restrictions. Thank you for your understanding.
What will the funds raised go towards?
Funds raised go to support research, therapeutic programs, transformations of away-from-bed areas, and the purchase of speciality medical equipment, which enhances the patient experience throughout the year.
Is Canberra Hospital Foundation a Registered Charity with DGR status?
Yes! Canberra Hospital Foundation is an ACNC registered charity. Canberra Hospital Foundation is recognised as a Health Promotion Charity and endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) by the Australian Tax Office. All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.

Mental Health Ward Group Courtyard, which provides
- a therapeutic space and activity for consumers with acute mental health issues who are currently hospitalised
- a space that promotes a healthy lifestyle to improve outcomes for the marginalised and vulnerable sector in our community
- A safe, secure outside space for use when in emotional crisis
Bio-Rad ChemiDoc MP Western Blot Imaging System, which provides
- a ‘personalised’ diagnosis to people diagnosed with immune diseases
- support for medical research conducted by the Canberra based Translational Immunology Labroratory
- help for Canberrans, living with immune-related diseases without the need to travel interstate
Therapeutic tools and toys for paediatric outpatient clinics, which helps to
- build a safe therapeutic relationship and to enable children to communicate with the therapy team.
- facilitate the engagement of children in play-based assessment and intervention by medical teams
Artwork in the Foetal Medicine Unit, which helps to
- reduced stress and anxiety, distraction from pain and increased pain tolerance
- mood adjustments, positive mental health outcomes and increased social engagement
